  • Austin, Texas, Position Overview The Austin Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) invites applications for endodontics faculty positions to support its established postgraduate Endodontics Residency Program. This recruitment is intended to expand faculty depth and expertise within the program. The position is open to candidates interested in a full-time academic appointment with emphasis on didactic teaching, scholarship, and research, as well as candidates seeking a part-time clinical faculty role focused on resident supervision and advanced endodontic care. Academic & Clinical Environment AIDM operates within a large, integrated academic dental center that brings together postgraduate programs in Endodontics, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, and Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). The Endodontics program emphasizes comprehensive training in non-surgical and surgical endodontics, interdisciplinary case management, and preparation for board certification. Faculty work closely with the Program Director to maintain educational quality, clinical standards, and program continuity. Facilities include digitally equipped operatories with surgical microscopes, on-site CBCT imaging, and access to an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) for advanced surgical cases. Faculty Role Options Option 1: Full-Time Endodontics Faculty (Academic-Focused) This track is designed for a clinician-educator with interest in didactic teaching, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, and scholarly activity . Responsibilities may include: Didactic instruction and course leadership in assigned endodontic modules Curriculum development and refinement in collaboration with the Program Director Resident evaluation, mentoring, and academic advising Participation in scholarly activity, research, or clinical outcomes projects Contribution to accreditation-related academic processes and program assessment Option 2: Part-Time Endodontics Faculty (Clinical-Focused) This track is intended for experienced endodontists seeking ongoing academic engagement while maintaining an active private practice. Responsibilities may include: Chairside clinical supervision of residents Participation in surgical and complex endodontic cases Contribution to case reviews, treatment planning, and competency assessments Support of interdisciplinary clinical education The scope and schedule for part-time faculty will be structured to balance clinical teaching with external practice commitments. Qualifications Education: DDS or DMD from a CODA-accredited institution or foreign equivalent Training: Completion of a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Endodontics Certification: Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (required or strongly preferred) Experience: Demonstrated expertise in clinical endodontics Prior teaching or mentoring experience preferred (required for full-time academic track) Licensure: Eligibility for a full Texas dental license Salary and academic rank commensurate with qualifications and experience, with institutional support for academic and scholarly activity
